Artrayal is an idea conceived in 2017 that gave wings to channel the passion for Arts Vivek had since childhood. Despite being inquisitive about Arts, somewhere, the passion couldn’t take off due to the focus on academics in the initial years and followed by the job phase in the latter.
It was at this time that the thought of professional painting as a medium to express creativity kicked in. This set the journey of shaping Artrayal to its current form, during which Vivek joined Singapore’s premier Art institute, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).
Vivek learned here some of the valuable basics of oil & acrylic painting such as the color mixing techniques, the concept of the ‘paint through your eyes and not through your mind‘ principle, the knowingness of the fact that the thoughts and emotions behind every single piece are equally crucial as the technicality, the behavior of how each paint tube behaves differently on canvas in terms of binding, texture and glow, the right way of using the paintbrushes, and the significance of pressure on the strokes that gives varying much depth. And the most important learning of all: Practice. and have Patience.
“Painting is having something to say and saying it in your own words.”
Vivek specializes in Acrylics and Oil mediums and has created a variety of artworks that have been featured across small art galleries, cafes, and bars. Vivek’s favorite subjects are Landscapes, particularly trees, and Buddha paintings, and he uses an extensive knife-based technique to give a thick texture on canvas.
Vivek is currently tied up with a one-of-a-kind blockchain technology-based art gallery, Rtistiq. In the past, he was tied up with Gallery Mori, Singapore’s leading art gallery. He is also active on social media platforms such as FB and Instagram under 'Artrayal.'
Vivek is currently based in Singapore.
